Please click the button below if you are interested in becoming an Link Crew Mentor for the 2017-2018 school year.
Just a reminder that if you were a mentor in 2016-2017 you must reapply for the 2017-2018 school year.
Link Crew Mentors are Juniors and Seniors who are good role models for younger students and who have been successful at Hanford. Mentors’ communication skills, leadership potential, responsibility, and personality have helped them succeed in the high school environment, and the lessons they have learned should be shared to help others succeed. We would like for you to be involved in our program. You could have a tremendous influence on the students with whom you work, and you will learn many valuable leadership skills in the process. Plus, it will be fun!
WHAT DOES A LINK CREW MENTOR DO?
Link Crew Mentors are trained to work with the incoming freshman class and other new students who are entering Hanford next fall. After the small group training, the Mentors will run freshman orientation before school starts in August. At the orientation, Link Crew Mentors will be partnered up and given a small group of freshmen to work with that day. Mentors will be asked to befriend and to help that same group during the first week of school with any challenges they may face, as well as continuing to contact them and attend activities throughout first semester. Mentors will need to meet with their student groups to touch base, discuss problems, and enjoy some social activities. We know that the more contact a freshman has with his or her Mentors, the more successful that freshman will be.
WHAT IS THE COMMITMENT?
Link Crew Mentors MUST be willing to commit to the dates and times below. If you do not come to regular meetings, activities, or trainings, you will be dismissed from Link Crew. *Preference for acceptance to the Link Crew Program will be given to full-time Hanford students.
